Emma Aller oversees WaterEquity’s risk management at the individual investment and portfolio levels and oversees the framework for portfolio monitoring. She brings 15+ years of experience in risk management and portfolio monitoring to the role.
Previously, Emma was Senior Director of Risk at Kiva, where she led Kiva’s risk and fund operations function and was key in the development and set-up of Kiva’s fund management arm, Kiva Capital. Prior to Kiva, Emma was Director of Risk at MicroVest, responsible for providing oversight of risk management and portfolio monitoring for MicroVest’s funds. She led Chatham Financial’s Emerging and Frontier Markets Team where she advised microfinance investment funds on managing their currency risk. She also worked at the Council on Foreign Relations focused on South Asia and served as an American India Foundation Fellow in New Delhi, India working on women’s rights issues.
Emma received her MA from the Fletcher School, Tufts University focused on International Business and Development Economics and her BA in History and Asian Studies from the University of Virginia.
