Maria Teresa Medina oversees WaterEquity’s investments in financial institutions in LAC. She is responsible for identifying opportunities, conducting due diligence, structuring investment terms, and monitoring WaterEquity’s investment portfolio. She brings 25+ years of financial experience in various sectors, including impact investing, investment banking, corporate finance, fintech and M&A.
Before joining WaterEquity, Maria Teresa worked for 5 years at Global Partnerships (GP), first as Portfolio Director for five Latin American countries and then as Director of Credit where she was responsible for monitoring the performance of portfolios in both LAC and Africa. Before that, she held different positions in the corporate sector such a CFO of a payments platform and a retail bank.
Maria Teresa received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia and an International MBA degree from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain.
