Sara Brown is responsible for supporting WaterEquity’s fund operations. Her role includes managing investor capital calls and distributions, overseeing downstream capital deployment, fund liquidity, treasury operations, and leading external financial reporting and audits. She brings over five years of experience in impact investing and fund operations, with a strong foundation in financial analysis, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.

Prior to joining WaterEquity, Sara served as Senior Associate, Fund Operations at Kiva Microfunds, where she played a key role in operationalizing Kiva’s role as Fund Administrator for the California Rebuilding Fund—a $120M blended finance recovery initiative. Her responsibilities included managing the fund’s portfolio, conducting financial and impact due diligence, and developing performance forecasting models. She also led stakeholder communications and standardized fund processes to ensure regulatory compliance.

Sara earned a B.A. in Political Economy from Tulane University and holds an M.A. in International Economic Policy from The George Washington University, where she specialized in development finance and sustainable economic development.
