WaterEquity is an asset manager focused on developing capital market solutions to finance water and sanitation improvements in emerging markets. Through investments in financial institutions and climate-resilient infrastructure, we are purpose-built to address the financing gap barrier that exists to achieving SDG6. Since 2016, WaterEquity has raised over $460 million in committed capital across five funds, reaching more than 5.8 million people with safe water or sanitation, while seeking risk-adjusted financial returns for investors. WaterEquity’s track record is built on decades of collective experience investing in water and sanitation in vulnerable countries, with leadership expertise in water, sanitation and infrastructure investments.
Building on this experience, WaterEquity has launched the Water & Climate Resilience Fund (WCR I), a new vehicle to invest in climate-resilient water supply and sanitation infrastructure in emerging markets. WCR I will target vulnerable populations through a diversified portfolio of projects and growth companies across the water value chain. Priority sectors include bulk water supply, water distribution, wastewater treatment, and water reuse.
Project investments will catalyze construction of much-needed infrastructure, while balancing fund-level risk through highly structured, longer-term contracted cashflows
Growth company investments will identify scalable growth-stage businesses which offer locally appropriate, sustainable technology services, and have a clear revenue model.
