Infrastructure
There is an urgent need to invest in water and sanitation infrastructure globally, as billions of people still lack adequate access, and climate change will exacerbate this issue, particularly affecting the most vulnerable.
While private investments in infrastructure have grown by 350% in the last decade1, only 1.9% of private infrastructure financing went toward water and sanitation infrastructure, specifically2.
While household solutions have been instrumental in increasing access to safe water and sanitation for millions, they must be connected to reliable infrastructure to fully realize the benefits of access to safe water and sanitation. WaterEquity’s climate-resilient infrastructure strategy targets communities vulnerable to the impacts of climate change through a diversified portfolio of projects and growth companies across the water value chain, including bulk water supply, water distribution, wastewater treatment, and water reuse. Investments aim to increase access to water and sanitation services, improve water quality, and mitigate the impacts of water scarcity. These improvements seek to bolster climate resilience at both the watershed and community level.
