Anu Valli leads WaterEquity’s investments in emerging markets financial institutions to expand access to financing for water and sanitation. In her role, she is responsible for strategy, management of a global team, portfolio development across a variety of different types of financial institutions, and oversight of multiple investment vehicles. She brings 15+ years of experience in impact investing and investment banking to this role.
Prior to joining WaterEquity, Anu lead Symbiotics’ South Asia team providing debt finance to financial institutions across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. Prior to Symbiotics, Anu was an Investment Manager at Bamboo Capital overseeing equity investments in Asia, primarily in energy and microfinance sectors. Previous stints include investment management and incubation support at IFMR Trust’s venture capital arm and experience as an investment banking analyst with Citigroup in India.
Anu received a Bachelor of Commerce from the Madras University and holds a postgraduate diploma in business management from the International Management Institute, New Delhi.
