Njeri heads WaterEquity’s financial institutions investments, focusing on water and sanitation. In her role, she is responsible for strategy, management of a global team, portfolio development across a variety of different types of financial institutions, and oversight of multiple investment vehicles. She brings 14+ years of experience in impact investing across various thematic themes, including financial inclusion, gender, clean energy, education and agriculture.
Before joining WaterEquity, Njeri was a Deputy Regional Director of Africa at BlueOrchard Finance, managing a portfolio of financial institutions across Africa region. Additionally, she managed a team of investment professionals and was in charge of implementing various investment fund strategies in the continent. She also served at responsAbility Investments AG, where she supported and led investment processes across various stages, from origination and due diligence to portfolio management and restructuring support.
She holds a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Nairobi. She has also completed the Oxford Women’s Leadership Development Programme from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
