Siddharth Arur is responsible for monitoring of the financial institutions portfolio, supporting the due diligence process and executing transactions in South and Central Asia. He brings 18+ years of experience in Banking/impact investment, relationship management and credit/risk management.
Prior to joining WaterEquity, he worked with Agents for Impact, a Germany based investment advisor to Invest in Visions, and a Germany-based portfolio manager that manages more than $1 billion microfinance funds. He oversaw Southeast Asia and Africa for AFI. He led transactions in Tanzania, Indonesia, Cambodia and other countries in Southeast Asia and Africa. He also provided risk opinions on transactions in Philippines, and Indonesia. Prior to AFI/Invest in Visions, he worked for Developing World Markets (DWM), where he monitored a financial institution portfolio of more than $100 million in the Asia-Pacific region. He has worked with leading international banks such as ING (Agribusiness and Microfinance), and Standard Chartered Bank (SME). He also worked with Ananya Finance, a leading wholesale lender to MFIs in India (promoted by Friends of Women’s World Banking). He has taught microfinance at some of the leading business schools in India, NMIMS, and SP Jain.
Siddharth received a Bachelor’s in Agriculture Marketing and Cooperative Management from UAS Bangalore, Post Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness and Plantation Management from Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bangalore, and completed a Berkeley Executive Program in Management from Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.
